What to do during summertime in Okayama

End of spring, comes summer, many things to do around Okayama. These are just a few of them:
1. Firefly viewing in early June, located in Yokage Town.
Also known as Unai Firefly Festival.

2. Korakuen Rice Planting Festival in Okayama City.
The festival shows traditional rice planting dance that some visitors can join in.

3. Okayama Momotaro Matsuri.
In this festival, dancers dress up as ogres, like in the Legend of Momotaro.

4. Sunflower in Kasaoka.
From mid July to early August, you can enjoy the view of millions sunflower in Kasaoka Bay Farm.

5. Fireworks.
Fireworks Festival in some towns with different schedules.

6. Peach-picking in Tomomien Fruit Farm and Yoshii Farm.
The name of ‘Fruit Kingdom’ given to Okayama is because it produces the best fruits from summer to early autumn. Summer is the season of peach."
